The purpose sought is to determine the permeability, formation damage, current pressure of the reservoir and identification of the boundaries for which purpose a specialized interpretation software is used.

The time-pressure data obtained through the test and the data furnished by the customer, such as production and reservoir data, mechanical condition of the well, among other, are considered when interpreting how pressure behaves through the specialized graphics analysis, i.e, logarithmic (log-log plot-  diagnostic and derivative), semi-logarithmic (radial flow plot), Cartesian, etc. 

Obtaining results involves an analysis of all data together, using the numerical regression technique until an appropriate match for the pressure’s behavior (and its derivative) is reached as per the model established for the analysis.
